RIYADH, thekabarnews.com—Saudi Arabia’s Nusuk AI assistant has served well over two million users since its launch. It can communicate in over 180 languages, according to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The ministry released the latest usage figure in September 2026. Meanwhile, Arab News highlighted it in a September 26 report ahead of World Tourism Day.
The data show how Saudi Arabia is expanding artificial intelligence within its official digital services for Hajj, Umrah and visits to the holy cities.
Nusuk AI operates inside the broader Nusuk application ecosystem. The assistant answers questions, directs users to relevant services and provides information about pilgrimage procedures.
It also supports voice interaction, allowing users to seek assistance without relying exclusively on written queries.
According to the ministry, 393,000 people used Nusuk AI during the most recent reporting month. The two-million figure covers the service’s cumulative users since launch. It does not mean that two million Umrah pilgrims used the assistant during a single month or pilgrimage season.
Nusuk AI provides guidance concerning Hajj rituals, Umrah and religious visits. It draws on an official knowledge base that includes frequently asked questions and recognized religious rulings, according to the Hajj and Umrah Ministry.
Its multilingual capability can help visitors obtain directions or clarify procedures when they do not speak Arabic or English. This function is particularly relevant in Makkah and Madinah, which receive pilgrims from a wide range of linguistic backgrounds.
The assistant, however, does not replace immigration authorities, licensed travel operators or emergency personnel. Pilgrims should still verify important matters involving visas, permits, health requirements and ritual schedules through official channels.
Saudi authorities have described Nusuk AI as one part of a much larger digital system. Moreover, the ministry said the Nusuk ecosystem offers more than 130 services in over 20 platform languages. It has reached well over 51 million users across 190 countries.
Nusuk AI’s support for more than 180 languages refers specifically to the assistant’s conversational function. This does not reflect the number of fully localized languages available across the entire application.
The ministry also operates a separate tool called Digital Mutawwif. It uses spatial AI to guide pilgrims along appropriate routes and automatically count rounds of tawaf and sa’i.
Officials reported that the service was used more than two million times in one month by over 1.4 million beneficiaries. Do not confuse those figures with Nusuk AI’s cumulative user total.
Nusuk’s digital expansion supports Saudi Arabia’s effort to make pilgrimage information more accessible while managing the movement of large crowds. Saudi authorities first introduced Nusuk AI as part of more than 30 additional services during the 2025 Hajj season.
For international pilgrims, its practical value will depend not only on the number of supported languages. It will also depend on the accuracy of its answers, reliable mobile access and the availability of human assistance when automated guidance is insufficient.
