The first three episodes were released globally on August 12, 2026. One new episode will arrive every Wednesday until the eight-episode season concludes on September 16, according to Amazon’s official announcement.

The new season adapts Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in Lee Child’s bestselling Jack Reacher series. First published in 2009, the book places Reacher at the center of a politically charged conspiracy. The story begins with a disturbing encounter on a Philadelphia subway.

“When a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway goes horribly wrong,” Amazon’s official synopsis says. Reacher is pulled into a deadly struggle involving powerful and ruthless adversaries.

The story begins when Reacher notices a visibly distressed woman on a subway train. He believes her behavior resembles warning signs associated with a suicide bomber. He approaches her in an attempt to prevent a possible attack.

Instead, the woman shoots herself with a gun in front of him. Reacher is haunted by the incident and cannot believe her death was a simple suicide.

His investigation of a digital drive left by the woman slowly uncovers a larger conspiracy. This involves past conflicts, political power and secret government activities.

The case also brings Reacher into contact with Lila Hoth, played by Agnez Mo. Lila is a young Indonesian woman who travels to Philadelphia with her mother, Amisha Hoth, portrayed by Anggun.

They are reportedly searching for Lila’s American biological father. However, their connection to the unfolding mystery makes them central figures in Reacher’s investigation. CNA Lifestyle previously confirmed the characters and their Indonesian background.

The supporting cast includes Chris Marquette as small-town police officer Jacob Merrick. Sydelle Noel plays Philadelphia detective Tamara Green and Kevin Corrigan plays Detective Shaun Docherty.

Kevin Weisman plays Washington freelance journalist Russell Plum. Meanwhile, Marc Blucas and Kathleen Robertson appear as US Congressman John Samson and his wife, Elsbeth.

Chris Marquette took over the role of Merrick after producers initially cast Jay Baruchel. Amazon’s current cast list identifies Marquette as the character’s actor.

Nick Santora returns as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Amazon MGM Studios produces the series in partnership with Skydance Television and Paramount Television Studios. Paramount was formerly CBS Studios, according to Variety.

Season 4 follows the strong performance of its predecessor. Amazon reported that Reacher Season 3 attracted 54.6 million viewers worldwide during its first 19 days. This made it Prime Video’s most-watched season since Fallout Season 1 over the same measurement period.

Reacher Season 4 is now streaming exclusively on Prime Video. Three episodes are available. Weekly releases continue through September 16.
