JAKARTA, thekabarnews.com—PT Pertamina Patra Niaga lowered the prices of three non-subsidized gasoline products on Saturday, August 1, 2026, following its latest review of global oil prices and the rupiah exchange rate.
The adjustment applies to Pertamax, Pertamax Green 95 and Pertamax Turbo. Pertamina maintained the prices of its non-subsidized diesel products, Dexlite and Pertamina Dex.
In regions that impose a 5-percent motor vehicle fuel tax (PBBKB), including Jakarta, Pertamax Turbo fell by Rp1,000 to Rp18,300 per liter from Rp19,300. The cut represents a decrease of about 5.2 percent.
Pertamax Green 95 declined by Rp400 to Rp16,600 per liter, while Pertamax dropped by Rp300 to Rp15,950 per liter. Pertamina kept Dexlite at Rp19,700 and Pertamina Dex at Rp21,150 per liter.
Pertamina said it periodically reviews non-subsidized fuel prices in accordance with government regulations and market conditions.
“The adjustment to non-subsidized fuel prices follows government regulations and directives, taking into account global oil-price developments and the rupiah exchange rate while continuing to consider consumers’ purchasing power. This step also forms part of our effort to keep national fuel supplies available and secure for the public,” Pertamina Patra Niaga Vice President of Corporate Communication Kitty Andhora said in a written statement on Friday, July 31.

The July prices used for comparison correspond with the fuel-price list published at the beginning of that month.
At the time, Pertamax Turbo cost Rp19,300, Dexlite Rp19,700 and Pertamina Dex Rp21,150 per liter in Jakarta and several other provinces, according to a July 2026 price report based on Pertamina’s official list.
Indonesia allows fuel retailers to calculate non-subsidized retail prices using a formula that incorporates acquisition, distribution and storage costs, as well as value-added tax and provincial PBBKB.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry also limits the retail margin and requires companies to report price changes, according to the ministry’s fuel-pricing regulation.
The listed August prices do not apply uniformly across Indonesia. Provincial fuel taxes and distribution costs can produce different prices outside Jakarta.
Jakarta has applied a 5-percent PBBKB rate for private vehicles since the provincial government reduced it from 10 percent in 2025, according to the Jakarta Investment Centre.
