JAKARTA, thekabarnews.com—President Prabowo Subianto reshuffled Indonesia’s Red and White Cabinet on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, changing several senior posts spanning foreign affairs, national security, industry and the presidential office.
Prabowo administered the oath of office at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta after officials read the presidential decrees governing the appointments. The ceremony formalized the departure or reassignment of several ministers and senior government officials.
“Before God, I promise to remain faithful to the 1945 Constitution and carry out every law and regulation with the utmost integrity,” Prabowo said, with the officials repeating the oath.
The appointments included Sugiono as coordinating minister for human development and culture, replacing Pratikno. Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir, previously a deputy foreign minister, succeeded Sugiono as foreign minister.
Former presidential chief of staff Dudung Abdurachman became coordinating minister for political and security affairs, replacing Djamari Chaniago. Former national police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo took over Dudung’s previous position as head of the Presidential Staff Office.
Prabowo appointed Bahlil Lahadalia as coordinating minister for downstream industries and energy transition. Bahlil said he would concurrently remain energy and mineral resources minister.
“The Cabinet Secretary called me to serve as coordinating minister while I continue as energy minister,” Bahlil said before the inauguration, according to Antara.
President Prabowo appointed Golkar Party Secretary-General Muhammad Sarmuji as industry minister, replacing Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. Sarmuji had earlier said the Cabinet Secretariat contacted him about an assignment related to the industrial sector.
The reshuffle also placed Drajad Hari Wibowo as deputy coordinating minister for economic affairs. Airlangga Hartarto remained coordinating economic minister, contrary to some earlier reports about the reshuffle.
Suyudi Ario Seto succeeded Listyo as national police chief after securing approval from the House of Representatives. Wahyu Hadiningrat was appointed deputy police chief.
Dedi Prasetyo, who previously served as deputy police chief, became head of the National Agrarian Reform Agency. President Prabowo appointed Aryanto Wibowo as deputy head of the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP), not as the agency’s chief.
The ceremony also included appointments at the Ombudsman and several deputy-ministerial posts. Prabowo swore in Nuzran Joher as Ombudsman head and Radyan Sam as a member.
President Prabowo formalized the ministerial changes through Presidential Decree No. 104/P/2026. Presidential Decree No. 105/P/2026 governed appointments to the Presidential Staff Office and the agrarian reform agency.
Prabowo closed the oath by instructing the new officials to uphold public-service ethics.
“I will uphold the ethics of office, work to the best of my ability and carry out my responsibilities fully,” the president said.
