JAKARTA, thekabarnews.com—PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo) ended 2025 with slightly more assets than PT Asuransi Astra Buana. Meanwhile, Asuransi Astra recorded the higher annual profit, according to official company disclosures.
Asuransi Astra’s official annual report shows assets of Rp20.75 trillion, revenue of Rp8.88 trillion and net income after tax of Rp1.62 trillion for the same year.
The company’s assets increased from Rp20.18 trillion in 2024, while net income rose from Rp1.52 trillion.
The comparison means Askrindo held about Rp1.48 trillion more in assets. Additionally, Asuransi Astra earned roughly Rp580 billion more in net profit.
Those figures should not be used alone to rank the companies. This is because they operate with different product portfolios, risk exposure and reporting structures.
Asuransi Astra, part of the privately controlled Astra Group, primarily serves retail and corporate customers through general insurance products.
Its portfolio includes Garda Oto vehicle insurance, Garda Medika corporate health coverage and protection for homes, travel and commercial assets.
The company also offers sharia-compliant insurance and digital services through myGarda.
Established in 1956 Asuransi Astra operates through 30 branches and a network of customer-service facilities. Its 2025 performance report said revenue increased from Rp7.91 trillion in 2024 to Rp8.88 trillion in 2025.
Askrindo follows a different business model. Founded in 1971 and now operating within the state-owned Indonesia Financial Group, it focuses on credit insurance. It also focuses on government-backed People’s Business Credit (KUR) and suretyship.
It also provides general insurance and protection for commercial projects and small businesses.
An Askrindo statement based on its audited 2025 accounts reported Rp22.23 trillion in assets, Rp8.68 trillion in equity and Rp1.04 trillion in after-tax profit. In addition, the company said it supported 512 strategic and national security projects valued at Rp261.9 trillion by December 2025.
“We want Askrindo to continue to be a company that creates value for society and the Indonesian economy,” the company said in the statement, citing its work in development projects, business insurance and government-backed financing for micro, small and medium enterprises.
The verified figures indicate that neither insurer led in every measure. Askrindo finished 2025 with the larger asset base. Meanwhile, Asuransi Astra generated the higher profit and reported substantially higher insurance revenue.
Their contrasting results also reflect their distinct roles. Asuransi Astra concentrates on general insurance. Meanwhile, Askrindo places greater emphasis on credit protection and guarantees.
