PARIS, Thekabarnews.com—Wednesday, May 27 (10 Dzulhijjah 1447 AH). Hundreds of Indonesian citizens and the Indonesian diaspora in France held Eid al-Adha prayers with Prabowo Subianto at Wisma Indonesia.
The Indonesian head of state created a warm atmosphere while celebrating one of the most important religious holidays in Islam. This meaningful atmosphere benefited Indonesians living overseas.
President Prabowo arrived at Wisma Indonesia around 8.40 a.m. local time, greeted with takbir. He joined the congregation just before the Eid al-Adha prayer and recited the takbir immediately after he joined.
Students, professionals, diaspora families, and Indonesian citizens had gathered since early morning to celebrate Eid together in the French capital.
The prayer meeting’s imam and khatib was Fakhruddin Arrozi. Fakhruddin holds a master’s degree from the International Islamic University Islamabad and is a lecturer at Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan.
Fakhruddin also spoke about the spiritual and humanitarian significance of Eid al-Adha in his sermon.
“The ritual of sacrifice is an act of obedience to Allah, but it is also an act of compassion, generosity, family values, and unity among Muslims,” he told worshippers.
He urged the Indonesian diaspora to maintain their Islamic identity and stay connected to their community while overseas.
“In our religion, we are not ordered to sacrifice our children like Prophet Ibrahim, but we are ordered to sacrifice our ego in obedience to Allah,” said Fakhruddin in his speech.
The message resonated with many of the worshippers. Moreover, they viewed the event as a chance to strengthen their faith and build bridges with fellow Indonesians living abroad.
The president greeted the congregation after the joint prayer ceremony.
In a warm and familiar atmosphere, the Indonesian leader met the citizens and members of the diasporas. He shook hands and exchanged greetings with them.
Eid was marked by a communal meal and informal mingling in the evening, uniting Indonesians from all walks of life.
For many of the participants it was more than just a religious celebration.
It was also a chance to maintain cultural contacts and to develop a sense of national identity abroad.
Prabowo’s presence reflected the seriousness of the government in interacting with the Indonesian community abroad. Additionally, it showed the government’s commitment to keeping in touch with people overseas.
The Eid gathering in Paris also underlined the growing role of the Indonesian diaspora in enhancing cultural exchange and educational cooperation. Furthermore, it fostered people-to-people connectivity between Indonesia and Europe.
The Wisma Indonesia celebration underscored the themes of faith, unity, sacrifice, and solidarity as Muslims across the world celebrated Eid al-Adha. As a result, the joyous occasion highlighted these themes.
The annual religious celebration turned into a memorable moment of national unity for Indonesians in France, far from home. The success was due to the visit of their president.
