JAKARTA, Thekabarnews.com—The newly appointed head of the presidential staff office to President Prabowo Subianto, Dudung Abdurachman, issued a stern warning to prevent the abuse and poor implementation of the president’s priority programs.
In particular, he referred to the Free Meals program (MBG). He also made reference to the Sekolah Rakyat program, in addition.
Dudung, sworn in just four days ago, indicated he would not stand for anomalies in the implementation of the government’s main programs.
The former Army chief of staff delivered a speech at the 7th Congress of the Indonesian Christian Intelligence Association (PIKI) in Jakarta on Thursday, April 30, 2026. In the speech, he directly talked about the worries of implementation in the field.
“I will take firm action if the implementation on the ground is not right,” Dudung said.
He had just been appointed as Head of the presidential staff office, replacing Muhammad Qodari. He immediately announced a stricter approach to supervision.
The presidential staff office has two main tasks, Dudung said, which are bridging the people and the government. In addition, the office monitors the implementation of national programs to realize real benefits.
Programs such as the MBG program and the Sekolah Rakyat program receive the strongest attention. President Prabowo Subianto’s administration considers these programs top national priorities.
He said that those programs are part of the national priority programs and the president’s flagship programs. These include MBG, the Sekolah Rakyat program, and others.
Observers familiar with Dudung Abdurachman’s military background found his strong and firm tone unsurprising.
In his tenure as the 33rd Army chief of staff, he was known for taking direct and decisive action. He always acted whenever he found irregularities or policy violations.
Now, as a civilian leader, he seems to be taking the same approach to government oversight.
Besides the problem of program implementation, Dudung also discussed the general problem of national unity and awareness of the public.
He warned that in the face of instability in the world and the increasing number of international conflicts, Indonesia’s greatest strength is its unity in ethnic, religious, and social diversity. Therefore, unity becomes essential for the country.
He emphasized the need to safeguard national cohesion.
Dudung also urged people to be more discerning in consuming information on social media. He warned of misleading narratives and provocative content that could lead to division.
“We have to keep our eyes and ears open to hear and see positive things and not let misleading information carry us away,” he said.
Dudung’s early message is a strong signal from the government that it wants tighter supervision over major public programs. In particular, this rule applies to those that directly affect education and social welfare.
Of particular interest is the MBG program. The government closely monitors it as one of the most important national programs. This is because of its scale and its impact on millions of students.
But for Dudung, the message is clear. Government programs are not ceremonial plans in paper. They have to perform well on the ground, and if they fail there, they will face harsh consequences.
