PONTIANAK, Thekabarnews.com—The West Kalimantan Regional Office of the Haj and Umrah Ministry held a final coordination meeting with the Provincial Office of Social Welfare (Kesra) on Thursday, April 30, 2026. This meeting was in preparation for the final stages of the departure of Haj pilgrims for the 1447 H/2026 M pilgrimage.
The Pontianak conference became the final phase of preparation to ensure smooth and complete services for the pilgrims’ departure to Saudi Arabia. In addition, it covers transportation, security, and health.
Kamaludin, Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, and Medya Yanuar Abdullah, Head of the Public Welfare Bureau, chaired the meeting. In addition, cross-sector committees and organizing teams from other institutions attended the session.
The material discussed was the technical readiness for departure, including the official departure schedule and the service flow at the Haj Dormitory in Pontianak. In addition, there was coordination between the sections of the Regional Haj Organizing Committee (PPIHD).
They also discussed the final rehearsal plan for the departure process. This included the preparation of committee identification cards and transport vehicles. Moreover, they addressed the need to step up coordination on security and health services.
The focus was on transportation and assistance in boarding for the older and disabled pilgrims. The goal is safer and more comfortable travel arrangements.
West Kalimantan Governor Ria Norsan will officially release the Haj pilgrims of the province on May 4, 2026, at Pendopo Gubernur. After the formal ceremony, each of the flight groups (kloter) will be separated from the dormitory of Haj, Pontianak.
Kamaludin said all committee members should be in their best readiness and ensure there is no operational disruption in the departure process.
“All services should be provided in a systematic, safe, and comfortable manner for the pilgrims,” Kamaludin said.
Media Yanuar Abdullah, meanwhile, stressed the important role of the regional government in the management of Haj at the local level.
“Everyone has synergized, and we are ready to make the organization of the Haj in West Kalimantan in 2026 a success,” Yanuar said.
The meeting also noted that all technical departments, including logistics, public relations, transport, security, health services, supervision, accommodation, and catering, had prepared themselves.
They said that for smooth Haj operations and better services for the pilgrims, there was a need for the organizing committees’ close cooperation with the provincial authorities.
Haj, one of the most important annual religious mobilizations, requires careful preparation. This is especially important to ensure that each pilgrim receives full assistance from departure until boarding.
West Kalimantan has now completed all final preparations to ensure a safe, orderly, and dignified Hajj journey for all pilgrims in 2026.
