JAKARTA, thekabarnews.com—Indonesia has booked Rp13.24 trillion collected through forest-area enforcement into the 2026 state treasury, Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara said on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The Indonesian government plans to use the additional revenue to support President Prabowo’s priority programs through established state-budget mechanisms.
The Forest Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) formally transferred Rp13,241,335,681,910.13 during a ceremony at the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) in Jakarta. Satgas PKH also returned 259,230.73 hectares of forest area to state control.
Prabowo thanked officers from the 12 institutions involved in the operation, describing the recovered funds and land as a concrete result of their joint enforcement work.
“This is the eighth event of its kind, and the total cash transferred has reached approximately Rp52 trillion,” Prabowo said. “That Rp52 trillion is about US$3 billion that we have saved over two years.”
The amount should not be classified entirely as confiscated money because it came from three separate revenue streams.
Satgas PKH collected Rp3,475,738,523,741.13 in administrative penalties from the forestry sector. The Attorney General’s Office contributed Rp1,535,750,234,271 in non-tax state revenue from its handling of special criminal cases.
The remaining Rp8,229,846,923,898 came from tax payments collected from taxpayers following action by Satgas PKH. Together, the three components total Rp13,241,335,681,910.13.
“The money enters the state treasury as state revenue and will later be spent through various presidential and government priority programs,” Suahasil said.
The Finance Ministry will record each component under the appropriate category in the 2026 state budget. The transfer does not create a separate fund that ministries can spend outside the national budget process.
In addition to the financial transfer, Satgas PKH also handed over 259,230.73 hectares of recovered forest area to the Forestry Ministry.
The land included 140,762.04 hectares from the plantation sector, which state-owned PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara will manage. Another 118,256.74 hectares consisted of conservation and protected forests designated for reforestation.
The remaining 211.95 hectares came from the mining sector and were transferred to the Forestry Ministry. The government presented the land handover as the eighth stage of its forest enforcement program.
Since Satgas PKH began operating in February 2025, it has brought more than 6.2 million hectares of plantation and mining areas back under state control, according to the Finance Ministry.
President Prabowo said the recovered revenue could help finance schools, public housing, agricultural irrigation and land-fire prevention.
“These recovered funds will be used to build schools and homes, repair irrigation for farmland, and prevent land fires,” he said.
Suahasil added that international developments could increase government expenditure. The Finance Ministry would continue reporting changes in spending as geopolitical conditions evolved, he said. However, officials did not state that the entire Rp13.24 trillion would become a dedicated emergency reserve.
Prabowo established Satgas PKH through Presidential Regulation No. 5/2025. The task force oversees enforcement against unauthorized mining, plantations and other commercial activity in forest areas.
The latest recovery strengthens state revenue and returns a substantial area of forest to government control. Its long-term impact will depend on transparent spending, effective reforestation and continued oversight of the recovered land.
