JAKARTA, thekabarnews.com—Indonesia’s Hajj and Umrah Ministry has confirmed that no Indonesian Umrah pilgrims were reported among the casualties from attacks on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport between Oct. 9 and 11, 2026.
The ministry said it checked pilgrim records and coordinated with the Foreign Ministry and the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh following the security incidents. Its monitoring identified 37 Indonesian pilgrims who had travelled through King Khalid International Airport by Sunday, Oct. 11.
“Based on data registered in our system, as of Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, a total of 37 pilgrims had departed or returned through King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh,” ministry spokesperson Ichsan Marsha said.
“Based on our communication with the Foreign Ministry and the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh, thank God, no Umrah pilgrims were among the victims,” he added.

The Indonesian Embassy separately reported that it had received no information about Indonesian citizens being killed or injured in the Oct. 10 attack. However, the embassy said it was continuing to verify information concerning those hurt in the incident.
Saudi authorities said the Oct. 10 attack killed 12 people and injured 309. Another strike hit the airport’s domestic terminal complex the following day, killing a Pakistani national and injuring 11 others, according to AP News.
The incidents forced Saudi authorities to suspend operations at the Riyadh airport and prompted airlines to cancel flights or reroute passengers. The disruption primarily affected travelers using connecting services through Riyadh or other regional aviation hubs.

Indonesia’s Transportation Ministry said some transit flights linked to Riyadh experienced cancellations, route changes or rescheduling. Emirates and Qatar Airways were among the carriers that adjusted services during the disruption.
Direct flights between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia included in the ministry’s Oct. 12 monitoring report remained operational. Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air services to Jeddah continued, along with the Saudia routes listed in the report. Delays or further schedule changes remained possible because the regional security situation was developing.
“We continue to monitor the situation and its impact on flights connected to Riyadh,” Civil Aviation Director General Lukman F. Laisa said. “Our priority is to ensure that aviation safety and security remain the main concern.”
The Transportation Ministry urged affected passengers to confirm their departure times directly with airlines before travelling to an airport. Travellers should also check connecting routes because the operating status of individual flights can change quickly.

The Hajj and Umrah Ministry instructed licensed travel providers (PPIU) to monitor their groups and explain any itinerary changes. Operators must also assist pilgrims who experience cancellations or delays.
“Remain calm, remain vigilant and prioritize safety,” Ichsan said. “May Allah protect all pilgrims and facilitate their worship and travel.”
Prospective pilgrims and their families should rely on information from the ministry, their airlines, PPIU operators and Indonesian diplomatic missions rather than unverified social media posts.
