Prabowo awards Mahaputera stars to Listyo Sigit

JAKARTA, thekabarnews.com—President Prabowo Subianto conferred two of Indonesia’s highest state honors on Police Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Police Comr. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Prabowo awarded Listyo the Bintang Mahaputera Adipurna, the highest class within the Bintang Mahaputera order. Dedi received the Bintang Mahaputera Adipradana, its second-highest class.

The government granted the decorations under Presidential Decree No. 85/TK/2026 on the Conferment of the Bintang Mahaputera. After officials read the decree, 

President Prabowo personally placed the medals on both recipients during a ceremony attended by state institution leaders and members of the Red and White Cabinet.

According to an official presidential statement, the state recognized the two generals for exceptional contributions to policing and other fields that supported Indonesia’s progress, welfare and prosperity. The government also said their service had gained recognition at the national and international levels.

Indonesia grants the Bintang Mahaputera to individuals whose service has provided significant benefits to the nation. Law No. 20/2009 establishes five classes: Adipurna, Adipradana, Utama, Pratama and Nararya.

The distinction between the awards reflects their position in that hierarchy. Listyo received the order’s highest class, while Dedi received the next level.

The ceremony recognized their leadership records in the Indonesian National Police (Polri). Listyo served as national police chief, while Dedi held the position of deputy national police chief. Their responsibilities included maintaining public security and overseeing the police institution’s national operations.

The presentation coincided with a wider leadership transition. On the same day, Prabowo appointed Listyo as head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) and Dedi as head of the National Agrarian Reform Agency. Presidential Decree No. 105/P/2026 formalized those appointments, according to the State Secretariat.

The Mahaputera decorations therefore marked both recognition of the officers’ previous service and the start of their new responsibilities within the national administration.
