JAKARTA, Thekabarnews.com—The House of Representatives building in Senayan has recently been a public focus. This development comes after a dramatic political succession in the plenary session to open the fifth session period of 2025–2026.
Adela Kanasya Adies of the Golkar Party faction was officially inaugurated as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR). This was done through the mechanism of Replacement of Inter-time (PAW).
Even more remarkable was the fact that her father, Adies Kadir, once held the parliamentary seat she had taken. DPR Speaker Puan Maharani directly led the ceremonial handover of political responsibility.
The session opened with a reading of the presidential decree of 22 April 2026. That decree concerned the official confirmation of DPR member replacements.
Then, Adela took her oath of office under the leadership of DPR, pursuant to House Regulation No. 1/2020.
She promised to carry out the mandate of the people in a just and responsible manner before God. Furthermore, she promised to uphold Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.
The public were immediately asking why Adies Kadir would resign from one of the most strategic positions in parliament.
Adies also served as deputy speaker of the DPR and deputy chairman of Golkar. She held these posts before officially leaving parliament, after which she received a new constitutional assignment as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Indonesia (MK).
His immediate replacement was his daughter, and accusations of political dynasty and nepotism soon became subjects of public debate.
Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia strongly denied the allegations. He said Adela’s appointment was not because of family ties but only because of electoral rules on vote rankings.
“PAW means the replacement must be from the next highest vote count after the elected DPR member,” Bahlil said at the Presidential Palace.
The East Java General Elections Commission (KPU) has recapitulated the 2024 legislative election in East Java Electoral District I under the Golkar Party. The winner was Adies Kadir with 147,185 votes.
Adela Kanasya Adies was second with 12,792 votes and Andi Budi Sulistijanto third with 12,064 votes.
This data proves that her appointment was as per the legal procedure for elections. But the political symbolism is compelling.
Many viewed her father’s departure to work for the Constitutional Court as a “golden opportunity.” This was a chance for his daughter to enter national politics at a young age.
It is a question of whether Adela can now build her own credibility as a politician. Her challenge is obvious, and she must prove that she is more than just the daughter of a powerful politician.
Now many are waiting to see if Golkar’s young female figure going to Senayan will make her own political legacy. Or instead, they wonder if she will be under the shadow of her father’s influential name.
