Thekabarnews.com—The House of Representatives (DPR) of Indonesia has started to take steps to save energy and gasoline. This move is in case tensions between the US and Iran get worse.
The DPR Secretariat General is responsible for the project. Its goals are to cut down on the amount of electricity used and the expense of running government facilities.
The lights in DPR buildings will be turned off after 8:00 p.m. local time, when there are no official meetings or events going on. This is one of the first things that will happen.
The DPR Secretariat General, Indra Iskandar, adds that the policy is part of wider conversations within the group about how to save energy. It is also part of discussions on how people would work in the future.
He said that the group has begun to look at numerous aspects of efficiency, such as energy-saving technologies and remote work practices. This way, it is ready for any issues that might arise around the world.
“We have spoken about alternative ways to preserve energy and how we might modify the way we work in the future,” Indra remarked.
The DPR has also started to limit how often civil servants (ASN) can travel for work, especially when it is not essential. This is in addition to utilizing less electricity.
The government says that to conserve money, people should only be able to travel on excursions that are highly necessary. People must also undertake these trips immediately.
The General Secretariat has also advised workers to minimize electricity use in unused conference rooms.
Indra noted that not all DPR buildings have automated methods for managing energy. So, the procedure still primarily relies on manual labor.
The DPR is also exploring ways to reduce gasoline consumption by restricting the number of government vehicles in use.
Officials indicated that they started working on these methods to save money before the Eid break. However, they do not know how much money they have saved yet.
The decision demonstrates that government agencies are becoming more worried about how political tensions around the world will affect the price and supply of electricity.
If the Middle East stays unstable for a long period, it could have an effect on oil prices all over the world. As a result, gas prices would go up. This would damage the economies of places like Indonesia.
The DPR seeks to show people how to utilize energy wisely by making things work better from the outset. This approach is essential for mitigating the economic impact of rising gas prices. It is also important for preparing for potential economic troubles that might arise from global instability.
They also want to be ready for any global economic issues. These kinds of programs may become even more crucial if tensions between countries continue to escalate.
