Sekadau, Thekabarnews.com—On Wednesday, March 25, West Kalimantan deputy governor Krisantus Kurniawan went to the launch of CU Keling Kumang’s new chief executive officer (CEO). The main office of the organization, which is in Sekadau, West Kalimantan, also turned 33 years old.
Sekadau regent Aron and Sintang regent Gregorius Herkulanus Bala also attended the ceremony. The event started with a traditional way to welcome the new CEO. After that, there were many thanks, and finally, Hilarius Gumawan was named the new leader.
Krisantus noted that CU Keling Kumang has developed a lot in the past ten years. Moreover, its current asset worth of roughly Rp1.4 trillion is a major issue.
“Over the course of each leadership tenure, the institution’s assets have expanded by about Rp700 billion on average. This reflects solid management and strong success as a group,” he remarked.
Krisantus thought that CU Keling Kumang might keep developing. In addition, it may have assets of Rp6 trillion to Rp7 trillion by the time it turned 50.
He remarked that this kind of growth is feasible provided you have strong people, excellent management, and a long-term commitment.
“If they work hard and united, CU Keling Kumang can do better than other huge credit unions in West Kalimantan,” Krisantus added.
The West Kalimantan Deputy Governor also encouraged the incoming executives to hurry up the process of making the organization digital.
He underlined how crucial it is to use current financial services like ATM systems and digital transfer platforms. He said this is especially important in a world where money is becoming more digital.
Krisantus says that credit unions are now safe locations to keep your money. Furthermore, they help the economy flourish, especially in rural regions.
Krisantus also added that CU Keling Kumang and the local governments should work together more closely. This would help the economy thrive in a way that benefits everyone and improves the community.
He finished his remarks by thanking Hilarius Gumawan for his new role. He also said that the school’s new leadership will be able to help it grow.
“Congrats to the incoming CEO. Be the greatest leader you can be to make sure CU Keling Kumang maintains expansion and is competitive in the next five to ten years,” the deputy governor urged.
This event is part of Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to modernize community-based financial institutions. It aims to make them better at helping the local economy thrive.
