JAKARTA, thekabarnews.com—Indonesian preacher (Ustaz) Riza Muhammad has once again made headlines. He claimed that he has some 42 people working for his family, including some 30 household assistants.
The disclosure circulated widely on social media in late July and early August 2026. This prompted questions about why the family employs so many people and how Ustaz Riza finances the household.
Ustaz Riza said the employees handle different domestic duties and help prevent his wife, actress Indri Giana, from carrying the full burden of running their home. Six male workers reportedly focus on keeping the property clean and orderly.
“I want my wife not to be overly burdened with household chores. With household assistants, we can focus more on more important things,” Ustaz Riza said, as quoted by WowKeren.
He also said that he helps finance the education of his employees’ children. Publicly accessible reports do not provide independently audited employment or financial records confirming the precise number of workers or the value of that assistance.
Interest in the family’s finances previously emerged in January 2024. This happened when Ustaz Riza discussed building a residence reportedly worth tens of billions of rupiah.
The planned facilities included a private salon, gym, swimming pool, children’s playground and minimarket.
“Yes, honestly, it is in the tens of billions because building a house nowadays is certainly not cheap,” Riza told SCTV’s Status Selebritis.
He declined to disclose the exact construction cost.
“But what I want to emphasize is that you shouldn’t look at the figure. Look at how someone makes their partner feel fulfilled,” he added.
Ustaz Riza’s best-known source of income is his work as an Islamic preacher (Ustaz). He regularly receives invitations to deliver sermons and appear at religious events across Indonesia.
Entertainment reports have claimed that his fee can reach tens of millions of rupiah per appearance. No contract or independent source has verified the figure.
The couple also owns skincare brand Nazula Skin, which they reportedly established in early 2023 under PT Nazula Indonesia. The couple sold its products through e-commerce platforms.
Indri, who previously appeared in Indonesian television dramas, films and made-for-television productions, also generates income through social media endorsements and television appearances.
Ustaz Riza had also been in the entertainment industry in the past and this gave the family several sources of income. Besides religious engagement, these provided additional earnings.
While those activities help explain the couple’s financial capacity, any estimate of their total wealth remains speculative. This is because neither Ustaz Riza nor Indri has released independently audited information about their income, assets or household expenditure.
