Thekabarnews.com—Cyber Unit 3 of the Aceh Police’s special crime investigation directorate (Ditreskrimsus) arrested and detained Dedi Saputra, the owner of the TikTok account @tersadarkan5758. He faces accusations of engaging in hate speech and blasphemy.
Kombes Pol Wahyudi, Director of the Aceh Police’s Special Crime Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus), confirmed the arrest through Cyber Unit Head Iptu Adam Maulana. Authorities caught the suspect in Bengkayang, West Kalimantan. After that, they took him to Aceh for more legal action.
“Yes, the suspect got to Polda Aceh yesterday at about 5:00 p.m. WIB. We secured him in West Kalimantan,” Adam revealed on Saturday, February 21.
As soon as they got to Banda Aceh, police officials took the suspect to the Tahti Directorate’s detention center at Polda Aceh. They took this step to support and facilitate the investigation.
“Authorities are currently detaining the suspect at the Tahti detention center of Polda Aceh while they conduct legal proceedings in accordance with the law,” he said.
The case started when Indonesian Islamic Students (PII) Aceh Region filed an official complaint with the Aceh Islamic Sharia Office, Satpol PP, Wilayatul Hisbah (WH) Aceh, and other Islamic community groups.
The groups reported Dedi Saputra to Polda Aceh on November 5, 2025. They alleged that he had uploaded TikTok content containing statements that insulted the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and offended the people of Aceh. Moreover, the report claimed that the content triggered public unrest.
Authorities are still looking into the issue to find out how serious the alleged infractions were. They are also working to follow the correct legal procedures.
