Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—As of December 18, 2025, the Redmi Note Series has shipped over 460 million units around the world. This is a giant milestone. Consequently, this success makes Xiaomi an even bigger presence in the global mid-range smartphone market. It shows how important Redmi is to Xiaomi’s long-term growth.
According to data from Omdia, in the third quarter of 2025, Xiaomi was the third-largest smartphone maker in the globe. It had 14% of the worldwide market share. Moreover, Xiaomi has grown its business beyond smartphones. It has become a global consumer electronics company with its “Human × Car × Home” ecosystem strategy. This strategy combines smartphones, electric cars, and smart home appliances.
Well over 740 million people around the world were using Xiaomi’s services every month by September 2025. In this environment, Redmi has been crucial in helping Xiaomi penetrate more regions. Redmi shipped one billion smartphones in 2023. The Redmi Note Series was one of the biggest contributors.

“The Redmi Note Series has earned the trust of users throughout the world for more than a decade because Xiaomi is committed to research and development for the long term,” said Cynthia Chen, Redmi Marketing Director at Xiaomi Global Marketing Department.
The Redmi Note Series successfully transitioned from a global launch to a worldwide audience
The Redmi Note Series made its first appearance in Singapore in 2014. It instantly drew attention by selling 5,000 units in less than a minute. Not long after, the series took off in India. The first stock sold out in just eight seconds. The evidence shows that there was a lot of demand from customers.
The first-generation Redmi Note had a 5.5-inch screen and a battery that could hold more than 3,000 mAh (which was a lot at the time). It also had excellent performance for its class. This mix of performance, quality, and value formed the series’ long-term growth.
Between 2017 and 2018, the Redmi Note was a big part of Xiaomi’s global growth. It entered Latin America through Mexico and then made its European debut in Spain. More than 100 countries sell Redmi Note Series products today. Furthermore, a wide network of channels, including Xiaomi stores, major e-commerce sites, and agreements with mobile operators, supports them.
Closing the gap between mid-range and flagship
The Redmi Note Series has always made the gap between mid-range smartphones and flagship handsets smaller by adding high-end functionality at low prices. This is in line with Xiaomi’s motto, “Innovation for Everyone.”
The camera has been a big part of the innovation. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G was a big step forward because it has a 200MP camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). It has a flagship-level sensor and 120W HyperCharge technology. Standards for durability have also gotten better over time. For example, previous models had Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5. Later models have IP68 water and dust resistance and Gorilla® Glass Victus® protection.
The Redmi Note 15 Series starts a new chapter
This month, Xiaomi officially released the Redmi Note 15 Series globally. This is the most recent version of the range. All of the new models have Redmi Titan Durability, longer battery life, better drop protection, and better water and dust resistance. As a result, these features make the new series more durable, faster, and easier to use.
Other flagship-inspired technologies are the silicon-carbon battery and the Xiaomi IceLoop cooling system. They also include AI-powered features that make sure the phone runs smoothly and is easier to use every day.
The Redmi Note Series is still a key part of Xiaomi’s worldwide strategy. Shipments around the world now exceed 460 million units. With ongoing investment in research and development and superior production capabilities, the series is ready to set new standards for high-performance mid-range smartphones around the world.
