Kuala Lumpur, Thekabarnews.com—Viu, a streaming platform, has officially announced its newest original series, Walid: Heaven’s Reign. This captivating religious thriller explores the delicate balance between faith, ambition, and power. The 12-episode drama will only be available on Viu starting on February 26, 2026. This film shows how committed the platform is to telling high-quality stories from Southeast Asia.
Rumah Karya Citra leads the production of Walid, reviving the creative partnership between Eirma Fatima and Pali Yahya after the success of Bidaah. The success of the previous series has heightened excitement surrounding this latest release. The drama promises to feature more psychological strain and moral dilemmas.
The main character is Walid, played by Faizal Hussein. He is a former head of the extremist group Jihad Ummah who escapes the law and hides in the mountains. He seeks to reclaim his power and forms a fragile alliance with Habiburrahman (Aqasha), a charismatic preacher whose hidden ambitions gradually surface. What starts off as working together quickly turns into a quiet fight for control over faith, loyalty, and power.
Ummi Hafizah (Marisa Yasmin), Walid’s estranged wife, is in the middle of all this growing tension. She seeks to reestablish what she considers the authentic teachings of faith within their community.
Walid‘s previous teacher, Ustaz Fateh (Dato’ A. Tamimi Siregar), returns from Cairo in a desperate attempt to help his troublesome student regain focus. Their paths cross, showing how close sincerity and manipulation are to each other, leading to an emotional fight formed by ego, regret, and redemption.
Olla Ramlan from Indonesia plays Raras Kartika, and Vanidah Imran from Malaysia plays Ummi Rabiatul. This shows how Malaysia and Indonesia worked together on the project. This engagement in the region is part of Viu’s larger plan to make stories that are based in local culture yet have global appeal.
Every Thursday and Friday, Walid: Heaven’s Reign will air new episodes. The show will have a suspenseful story that makes people question what devotion and authority mean in today’s world.
