Bengkulu, Thekabarnews.com—Two Indonesian regular civil servant candidates (CPNS) in Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province, have formally quit their jobs at the local fisheries office. This was according to officials.
Faris Mukhtar Hilmy from Madiun, East Java, and Satria Wageansyah from Empat Lawang, South Sumatra, both quit their jobs. They did so after being hired as national civil servants.
Seluma Regent Teddy Rahman stated that both individuals voluntarily resigned, without any external pressure or coercion.
“They can leave if they’d like to. They chose to step down on their own, without any pressure or coercion,” Teddy said, Thursday, April 9.
He said that resignations are up to each person and that all candidates must follow civil servant rules.
The rules state that CPNS who resign after their hiring may face punishment. One effect is that you can’t apply for civil servant jobs in government agencies that get state budget (APBN) for a while.
Officials stated that these steps aim to ensure accountability and commitment from individuals. These are individuals who secured jobs through a competitive selection process.
Teddy stated that the existing rules will determine the possibility of imposing fines or providing compensation.
People who watch say that resignations from newly hired civil servants, while not very common, show how challenging it can be to meet job expectations. Moreover, these resignations show how hard it is to find a good place to work and deal with personal issues.
The CPNS selection process is very difficult to get into because every year, thousands of people apply. People closely monitor resignations after accepting a job offer, particularly regarding the effective use of recruitment resources.
Authorities still tell people who want to get a job to carefully consider their options before they start the hiring process. This ensures that workers’ expectations are consistent with their responsibilities.
The situation has prompted authorities to improve workforce planning and retention by ensuring job expectations match actual duties.
Better communication about working conditions and career paths could help prevent things like this incident from happening again in the future.
The Indonesian government is trying to improve its hiring process. However, officials say that candidates for civil servant jobs must be honest and dedicated in order to do a good job for the public.
