Singkawang, Thekabarnews.com—The Singkawang Administration has made a smart move to keep up with the fast-changing world of digital communication. The Singkawang Administration set up a Coordination and Collaboration Forum for Government Information Dissemination through the Communications and Informatics (Diskominfo) Office. This forum brought together government officials and local content creators and influencers.
The forum took place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the TCM Room of the Singkawang Mayor’s Office. Its goal was to improve cooperation in providing factual information on development in a way that is more captivating and easy for the public to understand.

The forum aimed to transform the way individuals obtain information
Lulu Nonaria, the Secretary of the Singkawang (Diskominfo) Office, said that the way people use public information has changed a lot in the last several years. She says that official information is no longer useful if it is merely correct and formal. It also needs to be quick, easy to grasp, and strongly related to people’s daily lives.
“In this digital era, the way individuals obtain and trust information has changed a lot. Correct and official information is now insufficient. It also needs to be timely, relevant, and easy to understand,’ Lulu stated.
Lulu agreed that social media algorithms and the fact that formal government channels do not reach many people are big problems. She went on to say that these things make it necessary for the government to work with digital content makers to help people understand what the government is trying to do.
Local Influencers as partners in strategic communication
The Singkawang Administration discussed how important local influencers are in public communication throughout the meeting. Fredrik MHS, head of the Public Information and Communication Division of Diskominfo, said that local influencers are not considered instruments for promotion but as equal and independent collaborators.
“We do not think of influencers and content creators as just tools for promotion. They are strategic communication partners that have strong emotional ties to the people of Singkawang,” Fredrik said.
The Singkawang Administration also promised participants that this partnership would not limit their creative freedom. Instead, content creators and influencers should keep their styles and voices when talking about development issues. This makes the messaging more human-centered and relatable for their audience.
Emotional closeness makes others trust you more
The intimate contact between content creators and the Singkawang people is considered very relevant, something that mainstream media and official government outlets typically do not have. This emotional closeness should help people comprehend government services better and cut down on false information.
The major purpose of the effort is to make information about the area more reliable. The Singkawang Administration intends to build long-term public trust in Singkawang’s development agenda by combining verifiable official information with innovative material.
The Singkawang Administration still believes that this open and collaborative platform would help them create a digital environment that is beneficial for people, teaches them, and inspires them. The initiative aims to help people speak clearly in 2026 and beyond.
