Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has praised the mainstream media for giving people reliable and accurate information in today’s fast-paced digital world.
Prasetyo said in an interview on Apa Kabar Indonesia Pagi on Saturday, February 14, that professional journalism is still important for people to trust the news. This is especially true now that there is so much information coming from so many online sources.
Prasetyo asserts that traditional news organizations remain valuable sources of information. They aid individuals in distinguishing between factual information and mere rumors. He said that responsible journalism is more important than ever now that viral content is everywhere. As a result, it helps keep society stable and public discourse informed.
Prasetyo also thanked all of Indonesia’s journalists for always writing about the government’s programs, policies, and successes. He said that it is very important for people to know about and understand national development projects. These are the projects that the media talks about.
Prasetyo also asked everyone who is involved, like journalists, government agencies, and people who use digital platforms, to make sure that public policies really do help people. He also said that when you talk to people, it shouldn’t just be to sell them something. It should also be to show them how it affects them and be responsible.
The minister thanked the press for their work and said that people are getting more and more worried about fake news, hate speech, and other false information that is spreading online. Unchecked false information has the potential to erode people’s trust and undermine democratic values, he stated. False information can also instigate unnecessary societal divisions.
Prasetyo told reporters to keep working to make democracy stronger by teaching people and getting them to think for themselves. Furthermore, he told the news media to keep pushing for national values, character building, and making people love their country.
“Journalism is about making people more responsible and aware, not just reporting,” he said.
Prasetyo said again that the media and the government need to work together to keep Indonesia safe and free as it goes through many changes in the digital world.
