Moscow, Thekabarnews.com – If Western countries treat Russia with respect and recognize its interests, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin declared there would be no further wars after the one in Ukraine.
Putin made this declaration during an extensive question-and-answer session. It aired nationwide on television. He also denied that Moscow is intending to strike European countries. Putin called them “nonsense” and said that people who make them are trying to scare others.
Putin told the BBC that Russia might start additional “special military operations,” which is the Kremlin’s phrase for its full-scale war in Ukraine. He claimed that more military action would not be needed with a different political situation.
“There won’t be any operations if you treat us with respect, if you respect our interests just as we’ve always tried to respect yours,” he said.
His words were similar to ones he made before. In those, he declared Russia did not want any more wars. He also said that Russia was “right now” ready for war if Europe chose to fight.
Putin attributed the war in Ukraine to the West’s inattention to Russia’s security concerns. He repeated what the Kremlin had said before. The best way to create long-term stability in the region is through discussion and recognizing each other’s interests.
The comments come at a time when tensions between Moscow and Western countries are still high. Europe is still worried about the possibility of more violence in the area.
