Washington, D.C., Thekabarnews.com—President Prabowo Subianto went to the first meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) at the Donald Trump United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., Thursday, February 19. The president reiterated Indonesia’s commitment to promoting peace in Gaza and global stability.
President Prabowo stated that Indonesia fully backs Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan. He called the plan a way to bring lasting peace to the area. He said that Indonesia is ready to help in a beneficial way with diplomatic and stabilization efforts in places where there has been conflict.
The president also said that Indonesia backs efforts to rebuild and stabilize Gaza in the long term. Prabowo said that these efforts should be focused on bringing civilian life back to normal. Additionally, the efforts must rebuild public institutions and protect the rights of the Palestinian people.
President Prabowo said he was hopeful that the world could work together to solve the problems that are still getting in the way of the peace process. He welcomed the ceasefire agreement and described it as a concrete step toward peace in the region. The president also hoped that it would help find a lasting solution for Palestine, including Gaza.
President Prabowo said that Indonesia was ready to help set up an International Stabilization Force (ISF) as part of the country’s real contribution. He said that Indonesia is ready to send up to 8,000 troops to help with the mission.
Indonesia is prepared to send more personnel if needed.
This move demonstrates Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining peace and promoting global goodwill. Indonesia is one of the largest Muslim-majority countries in the world. Additionally, it has long supported the right of Palestinians to choose their future. It is still an important part of international diplomacy and peace efforts.
Observers say that Prabowo’s presence at the BoP inaugural meeting shows that Jakarta is taking a more active role in global security discussions. In particular, Jakarta is actively participating in discussions aimed at achieving long-term peace in the Middle East.
