Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—Nabilah O’Brien’s lawyers have questions about the timeline of a legal case that includes claims of food theft at a restaurant. The case also includes another claim under Indonesia’s Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law.
This law pertains to the unauthorized use of digital content related to the food theft incident, which may include sharing images or videos of the theft without permission from the restaurant or the individuals involved.
Goldie Natasya’s lawyer says that before Nabilah, the police named guitarist Zendy Kusuma as a suspect in the case.
Goldie said that after looking over the case formally on Feb 24, 2026, the Mampang Prapatan Police named Zendy Kusuma as a suspect.
“On Feb 24, 2026, the Mampang Prapatan Police officially named Mr. Zendhy as a suspect,” Goldie stated.
People said that Zendy Kusuma stole food from the Bibi Kelinci restaurant, which is what started the investigation. Before naming Zendy Kusuma as a suspect, the police reportedly examined the evidence the complainant provided.
Goldie, on the other hand, said that there were strange changes in the legal case involving her client.
She said that investigators at the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) were still questioning Nabilah O’Brien on the same day that police named Zendy Kusuma a suspect.
“My client remained at Bareskrim on the same day they requested additional statements,” Goldie added.
She said that the legal process that later named Nabilah as a suspect went very quickly. People say that investigators looked over the case against Nabilah on Feb 26. This incident happened just two days after police named Zendy Kusuma a suspect.
Goldie said that on February 28, 2026, the police sent Nabilah a letter saying she was a suspect.
“The case review took place on Feb 26, and my client got the letter about the suspect on Saturday, Feb 28,” she said.
The lawyer asked why the process was moving so quickly. In criminal cases, naming a suspect usually takes many steps and approvals from different parts of the system. For example, reviews happen by detectives, prosecutors, and possibly a grand jury. This issue raises concerns about the thoroughness of the investigation.
“This is odd because the process went so quickly. We know that getting permission to label someone as a suspect is usually not that easy,” Goldie said.
The case has drawn widespread attention because it involves public figures from the entertainment industry and separate allegations related to Indonesia’s Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law.
The defense team has not yet received any public comments from the authorities about the timeline they brought up. Police are still investigating both the alleged theft and the electronic information case.
