Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—The Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that building roads and bridges is just as important as the country’s growth. He said that being honest, having excellent morals, and developing your character should be just as important.
AHY sent the statement while on a Ramadan safari to the Ma’had Islam Rafiatul Akhyar Institute (MIRA Institute) in Pandeglang, Banten, on Saturday, February 21. He went to the event with the Transmigration Minister Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara. There, he talked to Ustadz Adi Hidayat, a well-known Islamic scholar.
During the visit, government officials and religious leaders were able to talk about the problems that are making it harder for the country to grow. Now, the country is growing in a world that is getting more complicated.
According to AHY, Ramadan is a time to think about and reaffirm the commitment to serving the public. He said the discussion strengthened his resolve. In addition, it boosted his confidence.
“If I had to pick one, I would say that Ustadz Adi Hidayat was the one who moved me. He talked about important philosophical ideas and truths from the Qur’an and Hadith in a short amount of time,” AHY said.
AHY says that leaders need to have a strong spiritual base so they can make sure that policies are fair and help everyone in society. Also, he said that we should see problems with government as chances to help others reach their goals.
The Ramadan Safari showed how important it is to teach people to be fair and honest and to build infrastructure that makes a big difference. AHY said they hoped that working with religious leaders would help make development more fair. Furthermore, he wants it to be more open and long-lasting.
There were also many Islamic leaders and scholars there. It showed that the people who took part were serious about making sure that their moral and spiritual values were in line with their development goals.
People who see the visit think it is part of a bigger plan to make moral issues a part of how the government makes decisions.
