Thekabarnews.com—The Kinsey Institute’s new study shows that most people only really fall in love with someone twice in their lives. The findings provide an unusual viewpoint regarding a topic typically influenced more by poetry and popular culture than by scientific inquiry.
The research team asked more than 10,000 single people between the ages of 18 and 99 how often they really fall in love. The results contradict the prevalent notion that romantic love recurs throughout life.
The data indicates that 14.2 percent of respondents reported never having experienced love. 27.8 percent said they had fallen in love once, while the largest group, 30.3 percent, said they had fallen in love twice. Around 16.8 percent had fallen in love three times, but only 10.9 percent said they had fallen in love four or more times.
The study’s main researcher, Dr. Amanda Gesselman, said that the investigation is one of the first studies to directly find out how often people fall in love over the course of their lives.
“This is the first study to ask how often that happens in a lifetime. People talk about falling in love all the time,” she said.
The results show that passionate love is common, which means that most people have felt it at least once. But it doesn’t happen very often for one person. Intense romantic love is rare and important; it isn’t constant.
Experts say that the results show how strong love can be. The rarity of love might not lessen its significance; instead, it could clarify the vivid memories of certain relationships.
This study offers measurable evidence that love, although universal, may be less repetitive than generally assumed, as dialogues concerning modern relationships persist in their evolution.
