Pontianak, Thekabarnews.com—The Free Meals Program (MBG) is still expanding. It is reaching more schools that do not have easy access to transportation. SD Negeri 25 Pontianak is one of these schools. It is in the East Pontianak District of West Kalimantan. Unlike most city schools, this one gets its food by boat instead of by land.
SD Negeri 25 Pontianak is located on Jalan Tanjung Pulau, Gang Baladewa, in the busy Kampung Dalam Bugis area. Because the roads near the school are so narrow, cars cannot get in. As a result, regular delivery methods will not work. Officials thought that the safest and quickest way to get the MBG packages there was by river.
MBG Program coordinators said that the only way to get to the school by land is to walk or ride a motorcycle. This is not ideal for carrying a lot of food. Therefore, boats help the MBG distribution team get the food to people on time and keep it fresh.
The river delivery system shows that the government is working to make sure that all students can get to nutrition programs. This happens no matter where they live. Officials said that the MBG program should help all kids, even those who live far away.
Not only did the people in charge make sure the meals got there on time, but they also made the meal distribution a fun event. The MBG delivery personnel dressed up as superheroes to make the program more fun for the kids. Ironman, Power Rangers, and other characters helped hand out the MBG packages. Their participation made the students excited.
The teachers at the school liked the MBG program and said it helps the kids get the food they need every day. In addition, they said that creative solutions like river distribution show that the government is serious about helping communities that do not get enough help.
The MBG program is one of the most important things for the country. It helps kids eat better and do better in school. The program changes to meet the needs of each area, so there is always help available. For example, in Pontianak, they use rivers to get things to people.
Officials want to see other places with inadequate infrastructure use the same methods. In this way, every student can get healthy food.
