Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—The Maybank Group is using its ROAR30 strategy as a way to expand and make a difference in the environment and society across ASEAN.
Maybank’s Humanizing Financial Services pillar strives to improve customer service while also helping communities and the real economy. One of its main goals is to help 3 million people from underserved and unserved groups have a better economy by 2030.
The bank also wants to raise RM300 billion in sustainable finance over the next five years. The company significantly increased its funds from the RM156.32 billion raised under its previous strategy. Moreover, Maybank is also on target to become carbon neutral by 2030. It aims to have no emissions at all by 2050. It had already cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 57.7% by 9M FY2025.
Maybank plans to allocate up to RM100 million annually by 2030 for initiatives benefiting students, youth, women, people with disabilities, and other marginalized communities. By 9M FY2025, the company allocated around RM56.7 million to projects set to support over one million individuals.
Maybank continues to prioritize small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), aiming to lend RM100 billion to them to bolster the regional economy. By 9M FY2025, Maybank has disbursed over RM60 billion.
These goals show that Maybank is serious about balancing its financial success with its long-term social and environmental responsibilities through ROAR30.
