Thekabarnews.com—On Monday, March 2, 2026, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) began a new offensive on Israeli land. This was the eighth wave of attacks in the continuing conflict between Iran and Israel.
The IRGC said in an official statement that the most recent operation used a Kheibar ballistic missile with a new thermobaric warhead. Iranian news source Tasnim confirmed this. Iranian sources said that the missile hit Haifa Port. This port is Israel’s biggest and handles about 56 percent of the country’s trade.
The IRGC said the Kheibar missile is one of Iran’s newest strategic military systems. The missile is said to have a 1,800-kilogram thermobaric payload and can go as fast as Mach 16 outside the atmosphere. Moreover, it can travel at Mach 8 when it comes back in.
Iran showed off the Kheibar missile for the first time in 2023. However, the government had never used it in direct combat before the present crisis.
Before they explode, thermobaric weapons spread a combustible aerosol cloud. The explosion creates a long blast wave. It also creates very high temperatures that can approach 3,000 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, there is a quick drop in oxygen levels within a particular area.
Military experts assert that the primary purpose of these weapons is to inflict maximum damage through blasts, not shrapnel.
In addition to Haifa Port, the IRGC said it also hit the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office complex and the Israeli Air Force Headquarters during the same round of attacks.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s military forces hit the home of the criminal regime’s prime minister and the Israeli Air Force headquarters very hard, according to the IRGC.
The Times of Israel, an Israeli news agency, reported that the missile strikes did not hurt anyone, nevertheless. At the time of writing, Israeli officials had not confirmed any damage to buildings.
Al Mayadeen claimed IRGC sources as saying that it was still unknown what the attack meant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, there has been no independent confirmation of any direct impact on leaders.
The most recent missile attack shows how the military conflict between the two regional adversaries is getting worse. Analysts say that if diplomacy fails, more exchanges may destabilize the Middle East. This instability could also draw in other nations.
As tensions escalate, individuals worldwide are closely monitoring the situation. People are apprehensive that it could worsen in the region.
