Thekabarnes.com—Iran alleged it was behind a missile attack on an oil facility in the Israeli port city of Haifa. This made things even worse in the Middle East. Iranian officials alleged that the attack was a reaction to past attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its troops attacked on Saturday night, March 7. The IRGC said in a statement sent out through its official news site, Sepah News, that it deployed a Kheibarshekan ballistic missile to hit the refinery.
The IRGC believes that the attack was a reaction to the US and Israel’s recent military attacks against Iran’s energy infrastructure.
Earlier that day, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) announced the assault on various energy installations in Iran.
The missile attacks struck oil storage facilities in Tehran Province and Alborz Province. According to reports, the attacks set off fires at several storage facilities. Therefore, emergency crews were forced to respond.
Firefighters battled all night to prevent the fire from spreading and causing more damage.
People in Tehran, the capital of Iran, said they heard tremendous explosions all throughout the city on Saturday night. This was part of a new series of big attacks that hit the country.
After a huge spike in late February, the most recent occurrences happened. The US and Israel acted together in military attacks against Tehran and other Iranian towns on February 28.
Iranian sources say that the assaults killed Ali Khamenei, numerous of his family members, high-ranking military officers, and civilians.
Later, Iran launched waves of missiles and drones to attack US military outposts and land in the Middle East. This land belonged to Israel.
Iranian leaders have harshly condemned the bombings and warned that the US and Israel are aiming to make the country less stable.
Ali Larijani warned that the US and Israel were seeking to divide and destabilize Iran.
He also encouraged Donald Trump to recognize that he had made a strategic blunder. Additionally, he said that Israeli policies had led the United States astray, resulting in increased tensions in the region and contributing to the ongoing conflict between Iran and its adversaries.
“The American side has injured our people severely. We will not just let this go,” Larijani stated.
Even if the situation is becoming worse, people in the region are still talking to one another diplomatically. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, told Independent Arabia that he is still in communication with Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
Araghchi also added that Saudi officials assured Tehran that Saudi Arabia will not let anyone attack Iran from its land, airspace, or waterways.
International observers are anxious that the continued exchange of military strikes and political pronouncements could make the region even less stable. This is especially true given the ongoing tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia and the potential for escalation into broader conflict.
