Ridwan Kamil’s post on his personal Instagram account on January 14, 2024, sparked this discussion. In the video, the former governor of West Java from 2018 to 2023 presents a review of a glamping room he designed. He covers both the interior and the front veranda. However, internet users instead concentrated on the reflection. It showed a male and an individual dressed in white, both visible in the room’s mirror, adding to the issue’s emergence.

In his explanation, Ridwan Kamil articulated the glamping concept outlined in the post.

Glamping refers to homes built from tent materials that are temporary in nature. They can be put together or taken apart at any time. Nevertheless, the facilities are typically similar to those of a villa. This concept is the reason it is referred to as glamping (glamorous camping).

“I designed this glamping unit to preserve a natural ambiance while incorporating contemporary amenities,” Ridwal Kamil said, amidst the controversy with Aura Kasih.

The issue garnered additional attention following Aura Kasih’s upload on February 9, 2024. It was associated with the same location. In that post, Aura walks in front of a series of similar glamping accommodations, dressed in a white shirt and black pants.

She also appeared on the terrace of the room with the caption, “Good morning, prioritize brunch over expectations.” The link between their two submissions caused numerous speculations among internet users.

Lawyers Speak Out

Nevertheless, Aura Kasih’s legal counsel, Yanti Nurdin, quickly refuted the allegations of a special direct relationship. “If the situation worsens, we are prepared to report the entity responsible for spreading the issue,” Yanti said.

He also referenced the increasing prevalence of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content, which he stated has adversely affected his clients. “We are collecting evidence because a significant amount of content can now be artificially generated using AI,” he stated.

Yanti emphasized that Aura Kasih was upset by the spread of rumors and confirmed that the allegations were false. She claimed that Aura herself declared all of it to be false.

Meanwhile, Ridwan Kamil has also issued a formal clarification. He apologized to the public through his personal social media account concerning the ongoing controversy.
