Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—The Indonesian government has confirmed that it will keep the prices of both subsidized and unsubsidized fuel stable in the near future. Many people thought that prices would go up in April 2026. However, this happened.
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced this on Tuesday, March 31, after working with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. He also worked with the state-owned oil company Pertamina.
Prasetyo said that the policy follows the directives from President Prabowo Subianto. These directives state that the people’s well-being should come first when making economic decisions. He said that the prices of all kinds of fuel would stay the same.
“Pertamina will not raise prices for any type of fuel, whether it is subsidized or not,” Prasetyo said. He also advised people to ignore unverified information circulating online.
The government said this because there were rumors that gas prices would go up a lot starting on April 1, 2026. Officials stressed how important it is to only listen to official announcements. This can help avoid causing panic.
Pertamina, like the government, said that there has been no decision to change the prices of gas. Muhammad Baron, Pertamina’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, said that rumors about price changes on social media are not true.
“We have not made any official statements about changes in prices. Pertamina’s official channels are the only ones that should give the public accurate information,” he said.
People were saying that the price of Pertamax could go up from Rp12,300 per liter in March to Rp17,850 per liter in April. There were also reports that the rumors had an effect on other fuel products. These included Pertamax Green 95, Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex.
The rumors were about things that were not happening in Indonesia, like the rupiah getting weaker against the US dollar. They were also about global benchmark prices for RON 92 fuel going up. The government said again that keeping the country stable is still crucial.
Even though the global energy market is unstable, officials said that subsidized fuels like Pertalite and Biosolar will still be safe. Keeping fuel prices stable is important for protecting people’s buying power. It also helps make the economy stronger.
The government also said that the country’s fuel supplies are safe and that the public should not worry.
Despite the ongoing uncertainty in the global energy landscape, policymakers closely monitor developments. They prioritize stability and affordability for Indonesian consumers.
