Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—The Indonesian National Nutrition Agency (BGN) clarified a viral social media claim that they procured tens of thousands of electric motorbikes for West Java. They emphasized that the circulating information is false.
After a widely shared video showed rows of electric motorbikes with the agency’s logo inside a large warehouse, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana spoke about the issue. The video narrator claimed that the nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG) in West Java had produced up to 70,000 units.
In response to the rumors, Dadan said that buying electric motorbikes is part of the government’s budget plan for 2025. The MBG Program aims to assist SPPG heads responsible for nutrition services.
“The purchase is in the budget for 2025. These motorcycles will help SPPG heads do their jobs,” Dadan said in an official statement, Tuesday, April 7.
However, he stressed that authorities have not yet distributed the vehicles. He says that the motorbikes need to go through administrative processing. Furthermore, authorities must officially register the vehicles as state-owned assets (BMN) before using them.
“These units have not been given away yet. They’ll be state assets before they’re given out,” Dadan remarked.
Dadan also made it clear that the process of buying things has been going on in stages since December 2025. He strongly denied the online claim that there were 70,000 motorbikes in circulation.
The 70,000 units of information are false. He stated that authorities had procured 21,801 units out of the 25,000 planned for 2025.
The clarification comes at a time when people are more worried than ever about false information on social media, especially about government programs.
Dadan urged the public to verify information before sharing it and to avoid spreading unverified claims that could cause confusion.
He said that the procurement initiative is part of the government’s larger plan to make sure that the MBG program runs smoothly across the country. More specifically, the program aims to improve food access and health outcomes for all. The program particularly targets the most vulnerable populations.
As Indonesia grows its national nutrition initiatives, officials urge the public to understand and support the policies that drive them.
The Indonesian govt emphasizes that improving logistics and operational support—especially transportation for field officers—will strengthen nutrition services nationwide.
The incident shows that authorities must prioritize clear communication and fact-checking. This is increasingly important as digital platforms play a growing role in shaping public views on health and nutrition policies.
