Pontianak, Thekabarnews.com—The Pontianak Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) has made it clear that private schools cannot accept new students until the 2026 New Student Admissions System (SPMB) starts.
Disdikbud said that all schools in Pontianak will start using SPMB at the same time in 2026. The policy aims to ensure that student admissions are fair, orderly, and compliant with existing rules.
Sri Sujiarti, the head of Pontianak Disdikbud, said that the synchronized enrollment method will commence this year.
“This year, we will do SPMB at the same time,” she announced, Thursday, January 22.
Sri Sujiarti did say, nevertheless, that some private schools have already taken students before the official SPMB schedule.
Disdikbud will provide those schools strong warnings in response, since the education agency is in charge of private school permits.
We will warn private schools that have already taken students this year. “We will scrutinize their compliance next year, as Disdikbud oversees their licenses,” she stated.
The consequences will not only affect schools. Students who have already signed up for private schools before the official SPMB time will also face penalties.
They will not be able to participate in SPMB at public schools or schools run by the Religious Affairs Minister (Kemenag) anymore.
Sri Sujiarti stressed that as a punishment, kids who have previously signed up for private schools cannot join SPMB again at public schools or Kemenag schools.
She went on to say that this policy is part of the government’s larger goal to make sure that the SPMB follows national education rules. Also, the policy aims to stop institutions from competing unfairly with each other.
Disdikbud wants all schools in Pontianak, both public and private, to follow the official SPMB schedule. This way, all students have equal access to education, and there is no confusion.
