Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—Digital fraud in Indonesia is growing at an alarming rate. This is making people seek more secure and reliable digital identity systems. The Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC), which is part of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), says that between November 2024 and December 2025, digital fraud cost Rp9 trillion. There were more than 411,000 cases registered across the country.
The rise is due to both the increase in the number of digital transactions and the complexity of fraud schemes. For instance, identity theft, biometric spoofing, and AI-driven manipulation like deepfakes are becoming popular methods. Such an increase makes it hard for enterprises to employ their current verification systems.
Privy, a certified digital identity and digital signature service in Indonesia, has reached an international milestone. It has achieved the iBeta certification, ISO/IEC 30107-3 Level 2, for its liveness detection technology. The accreditation raises Privy’s security standards. As a result, it brings the company closer to the finest practices in the world for detecting presentation attacks.

Worldwide recognition for advanced fraud prevention
Nitin Mathur, Privy’s Chief Operating Officer, said that the Level 2 certification shows that the organization can find and stop medium- to high-level digital fraud on a global scale. It is also a big step forward from the company’s previous Level 1 certification.
“This certification shows that Privy is dedicated to fulfilling worldwide standards while also dealing with more and more complicated types of digital fraud. User security is still our top focus, especially since identity theft and verification failures can lead to direct financial losses. We think that checking someone’s identification is a crucial step in keeping people safe,” Nitin stated.
Level 2 of the iBeta certification requires more testing than Level 1. It includes a larger range of spoofing techniques, longer testing times, and attack scenarios that are quite similar to what happens in the real world. This ensures that the system can tell for sure that the user is a real person and not a fraudulent photo, video, or AI-generated deepfake.
Nitin added, “This success shows that Privy’s system can stand up to more sophisticated attempts at identity fraud. It fits with our long-term goal of being a reliable digital identity and digital trust platform supported by reliable technology.”
Keeping millions of people safe
Privy says that the certification is good for its growing user base in addition to meeting worldwide norms and rules. There are presently 71 million verified individual users on the network in Indonesia.
Privy says it has stopped more than 122 million attempts at digital fraud by halting suspicious behaviors before they turn into financial abuse. Furthermore, Privy also offers a Certificate Warranty of up to Rp1 billion. As a result, it is the only digital signature service in Indonesia that protects your money if you lose it because someone misuses digitally signed papers that use Privy certificates.
“This accreditation is not simply about achieving international standards. It is about making sure that millions of people who use our services every day are safe, trust us, and have peace of mind,” Nitin stated.
Growing need for digital trust infrastructure
As Indonesia’s digital economy evolves, Privy’s position keeps getting bigger. So far, more than 167,000 businesses have trusted the organization. It has helped more than 158 million digitally signed papers in a wide range of fields, including Indonesia’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
This level of acceptance shows that there is a growing need for strong digital trust infrastructure. This need is particularly pronounced as organizations and consumers increasingly shift their business operations to online platforms.
Privy states that in the future, it will keep improving its technology, making sure it follows the rules, and creating digital identification and trust solutions that work the same way all across the world.
“Our defenses must change as digital hazards do. Privy is still dedicated to creating a digital ecosystem in Indonesia that is safe, open, and trustworthy,” Nitin remarked.
