Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—Many people in Indonesia want to keep getting free healthy meals through the free meals program (MBG). The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Deputy Head Nanik Sudaryati Deyang said that residents in several regions have sent heartfelt messages to their local leaders because the program has not started in their areas yet.
Nanik said that many local leaders spoke up about their worries during the nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG), which stands for “Socialization and Strengthening of MBG Governance.” Nanik stated that the lack of their districts’ inclusion in the MBG program devastated many people.
“We heard from several local leaders that residents in their areas have been inquiring about the start date for the MBG program for some time,” she said. In addition, Nanik had many people who were excited about him.
Madiun regent, Hari Wuryanto, confirmed what happened. When Nanik goes to their villages or community events, many people also ask him when the MBG will start working. He said that many people in his area were excited about President Prabowo Subianto’s plan. Not only students, but more than just students, are eagerly anticipating the start of this program.
“Everyone in the community is looking forward to the start of this program.” People of all ages—from women in pregnancy to toddlers to older individuals—fill the audience,” Hari said.
Nanik said that what the leaders of her area said had a big impact on her. She says that the strong response from the public shows how much the community needs better nutrition help.
The MBG program should do more for the economy than just stop stunting and malnutrition. For example, BGN says that the program will help farmers, food suppliers, and small businesses in the area. Because of this, the economy will get better, and more jobs will be available.
The Indonesian government thinks that MBG is a beneficial way to invest in the people of the country for a long time. They believe that giving kids and other weak groups enough food will make them healthier and more useful in the long run.
Officials want to make the program available nationwide by improving the systems that ensure smooth and orderly operations. As a result, many communities depend on MBG because it helps them and gives them hope for the health and economic growth of future generations.
