Jakarta, Thekabarnews.com—The Indonesian government will hire 32,000 free meals program (MBG) kitchen staff as state employees with employment agreements (PPPK) commencing in February 2026.
National Nutrition Agency head (BGN) Dadan Hindayana confirmed the idea. According to a report by Kompas, Presidential Regulation No. 115/2025 on the Governance of the MBG Program governs appointments.
If they meet the requirements of extant laws and regulations, nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG) employees can become PPPKs under Article 17 of the regulation.
The policy does not apply to all MBG kitchen staff. Dadan says only certain professional professions can become PPPKs. These include SPPG unit heads, accountants, and dietitians.
The PPPK appointment is not for all SPPG personnel. When reached Tuesday, Dadan said only SPPG leaders, accountants, and dietitians are eligible.
He stated that all qualified candidates passed the December 2025 Computer Assisted Test (CAT). The formal appointment procedure begins in February 2026.
“The CAT procedure was completed in December,” he stated.
Dadan said PPPK pay for SPPG personnel will follow statutory regulations. Rank classification and years of service determine PPPK pay under Presidential Regulation No. 11/2024.
SPPG personnel hired under this strategy will be Rank III. They will earn Rp 2,206,500 to Rp 3,201,200 per month.
This is a deliberate effort to boost the MBG program’s institutional capacity and professionalism, as well as provide job security and consistent compensation for important people supporting Indonesia’s nutrition agenda.
